Just letting anyone who's interested that I have a new LJ for all my christian-based quotes I've collected over the last couple years, you can find it here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/cordatuslaudo/

4 more days of school, then I"m FREEEEEEEEEEEEE from Red Rocks for good! We talked to our insurance person, and as long as I"m a dependant and living at my parent's house I'm under their policy, so that's just awesome! Also, I'm still covered when I go off to school, as long as I'm going fulltime! Speaking of going away to school, I think I've finally decided on Kansas City Art Institute, Ringling was just too expensive and my parents want me a little closer to home. So it's off to Kansas City, Missouri in the fall for me! Yay!

Wheeeee haven't posted in forever!

The Supertones final show was absolutely amazing, 27 songs in a row! It was like I died and went to a ska paradise. Tony, the Chief, and Jason came out and played three old school Tones songs too, that was awesome! So anyways, I was quite close to the front through John Davis and Bleach, but when the Tones came out crowd crush happened and my stupid pneumonia riddled lungs started acting up and it was just too darn hot (500 people in the Biola gym, it was packed). So I moved to the very back of the gym and found an awesome skank pit and skanked around in that as my poor lungs would allow. Oh and I got interviewed by some chick with a camera, not sure what that was for but hey it was cool. Here's the set list for the show!

Escape From Reason
Sure Shot
Where I Find You
Go Go Go
O.C. Supertones
Jury Duty
We Shall Overcome
Prince of Peace
Away from You
Shepherd is the Lamb
Unknown (old school Tones)
Grace Flood (old school Tones)
Hallelujah (old school Tones)
Wake Me Up on Time
Welcome Home
Who Can Be Against Me
Faith of a Child
Little Man
Chase the Sun
Hold On to Jesus
Come Thou Fount

The rest of the trip was pretty good too, my aunt's really stressed out so mostly I just hung out with her and talked. We went to Philippe's (favorite restaurant EVER, pickled eggs are tasty), and to the Fermin Point lighthouse, and a drive by of the Queen Mary.

Last night I saw my raw rock homies, Showbread. They were awesome as ever, in fact they were so raw they blew the power out in the middle of Dead by Dawn. The drummer, keytarist, and bassist still had power though, so they did SOOOOLOS!!!! It was really funny. In fact, Josh Dies, the lead singer, is prolly one of the funniest guys in christian music today, he's crazy! The fire department showed up about halfway through the concert, not sure what that was about, anyways, Showbread had to stall, again, so Josh did his really really really crazy Krunk monologue improve. Johnstown is now Krunkstown of all things Krunk, btw. Hehehe, and the bassist crashed into Kamie and I during Welcome to Plainfield, Tobe Hooper, he got a little crazy with his mad dance skillz and slipped and fell into the crowd, nearly knocking one of the monitors over. Hehehe. They're so raw. Can't wait till they come back. oh I got a shirt too, since mom hates my other Showbread shirt. this one has a typewriter, and bird, and it's just awesome. Ohhhhhhhh and they played one of their new songs, it was the krunk, can't wait for the new cd to come out!

Ummmm, I'm way far behind in school, eep. I don't know why either, I just have no motivation. I am so ready to escape from red rocks... spring 06 is my LAAAAAST semester, yay, then hopefully I'll be at Ringling (cross my fingers hope to die), or staying here at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, in my own apartment.

That's about it really, till next time!

Ohhhh I forgot, I snagged Showbread's bassist's guitar pick, it was on the floor, yay! I made a necklace out of it.

I just finished the Test from Hell, for my western civ class... ugh... 31 questions, most of them paragraph essays. Took me roughly 12 hours to do, grrr, because half the stuff we didn't cover in the three days of class we've done, or wasn't in the book. And guess what? We have 7 more tests like that to do!

*sighs* I wish I was a better christian... I don't know why I have such a hard time with it, I mean, I know every other person who's a christian struggles, but it just seems like I'm useless at it. I can't even seem to get myself to read the Bible every day. I have been trying to at least pray more, and that's going ok, but my emotions lately are just so out of whack I don't even know what to pray for. This whole thing with Cutler I think has thrown me for a loop farther than I thought it had at first. I wish I'd never gotten so involved with him. I've been thinking about making a commitment to God to wait for my future spouse, but to tell the truth it terrifies me that I might never receive someone because I can't seem to get my christian walk under control and grow in the Lord... *sighs*

I don't know...

Ska's not dead! Muahahhaa!

*coughs* erm, yes, I really should bother to update this thing more. What's happened since the last time I posted...

Summit was awesome! Had a really good time, and learned a lot, even though I didn't get to really do any of the activities besides visit the Air Force Academy. Made some cool friends, shout outs to Ben, Lyndsay, Steve, and all my roomates and small group girls! So anyways, I'm really fired up right now, and I've been trying to read a book a week (on something apologetics), right now it's this book called Lewis Agonistes, on how C.S. Lewis can teach us to wrestle with the modern and post-modern world. It's pretty awesome.

Ummm, I dyed my bangs red, looks pretty cool if I do say so myself. Wish it'd turned out a little bit brighter, but oh well. I 'hawked it for the Supertones concert yesterday up in Greeley, that was wicked. Never ever putting ketchup in my hair again though, smells like crap, and it didn't work, ended up using good ol' Elmer's glue.

Speaking of the Supertones, both concerts here were awesome! Skanked like mad, although now I'm paying for it with pulled calf muscles in both legs, heh. Definitely not in shape for concerts! I think the concert up in Greeley was better than the one here, there wasn't as many idiot middle school poser punk kiddos trying to mosh at a SKA CONCERT! Plus my friend Aaron and a couple of his friends were there and we had fun just being crazy and skanking lots... well, they were there at the one here in Denver, but I didn't hang out with them too much, and the people I did hang out with weren't into the whole dance around crazy in the middle of the pit, except my friend Kamie who surprised me and really got into it (I didn't take her for the crazy concert-going type). Plus we got to hang out for a bit with Mojo of the Tones more up in Greeley, he's still awesome as evah. Don't let him try to tell you he's old, it's all lies ;-) Oh, and I have my plane tickets to go see their final show in Orange County California! It's pure accident that the weekend I'm visiting my grandma is the same weekend they're playing, really ;-)

Wednesday was fun too, Brian invited Paul and I to his sister's going away party, I suspect just to save him from her friends ;-) Anyways, we watched stupid videos on his computer, and took pictures of ourselves holding his sword and lightsaber model, that Paul's gonna do a little photoshop magic to and turn them into lightsabers. Can't wait to see those.

Umm, what else? School's going ok, the bad thing is that I pretty much have to stay up there for 12 hours a day tuesdays and thursdays, and then I come home and crash. Oh well, at least I've got friends up there to talk to most of the day, and lots of books to read!

Ok that's the news, I"m gonna go sleep now.

Joe Normal

43 % Nerd, 43% Geek, 13% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.

This is not to say that you don't have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside of you--we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren't much outcast.

I'd say there's a fair chance someone asked you to take this test. In any event, fairly normal.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 25% on nerdiness

You scored higher than 62% on geekosity

You scored higher than 7% on dork points

What a week - came down with pneumonia, ended up staying overnight in the hospital friday night for it, could hardly breath. But I'm home now, and on a stronger antibiotic, that should help, feeling much better already. The bad thing about all this is that I have to miss the first couple of days of Summit :-( Katy is not happy about this. Oh well, my friend I'm going with is saving me a good bed and I should be down there on tuesday or wednesday if I feel good.

The other good thing is that I got out of wearing The Wild Thing costume for the library's 5th anniversary, ha! Apparently it was a pretty bad costume, according to Kamie. Jason got to wear it, hehe, poor guy. I must remember to thank him.

Oh, and my ex-boyfriend is an idiot, I guess he changed his brakepads, and forgot to tighten the lugnuts on his rear tire, and ended up losing the tire on the highway, heh... who in their right mind forgets to tighten their lugnuts? Sorry, I prolly shouldn't laugh, but I just find it really funny for some reason.... oh well.

My screenprinting experiments are going well, my zombaid shirt came out great, and now I'm working on a ska-themed black hoodie. I'd take pictures, but my camera is officially dead (WM thinks the CPU is shot). Which means I gotta save up like $400 bucks to get a good one on ebay. I'm looking at the canon powershot s70, it's 7.1 megapixels with a wideangle 3.6x optical zoom lens, pretty darn nice. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons70/

That's all for now, time for Katy to go lie down again.

Work was chaotic today, the bookdrop is starting to scare me, and my boss wasn't too happy about a certain incident whose details I cannot divulge. Alas. I'm working over at another library tomorrow, will be a nice change from Belmar. And wednesday I will have to work with Jason again, that'll be interesting. I *think* I'm getting over him, I haven't been thinking about him as much since I made my decision on thursday not to pursue anything further than friendship. Even though I'm trying not to be "interested" in him, I think we could still be good friends, and I'd like that better anyways, even though I'm still lonely in a way. Oh well. I am determined not to let anything get me down at the moment, I can't afford it.

Tonight I did a little experimenting with screen printing on tshirts using the tutorial I found here: cheap screen printing method!
So far I haven't actually made my shirt (a replica of the zombAID shirts found in shaun of the dead), I still have a couple more test runs to do before I'm brave or good enough to try anything on my good shirt. But it looks like it's gonna work better than stupid iron-on transfers, hurrrah! If I ever get my digital camera back from WM I'll post pictures.

Now it's back to Stargate and my knitting!

Let's see if I can keep this thing up, heh...

Nothing much going on over here, been working A LOT and hanging out with friends, and going to concerts. So far I've seen the phenomenauts, the aquabats, showbread, and blindside, and all were wicked awesome! I wish I could see the aquabats again, but I'll be at Summit when they come back in august, grrr... oh well! I have 12 more days of work before I leave for summit in two weeks, I'll be there for two weeks, then I have two precious days to catch up on sleep before it's back to work and school. This semester I'm taking math, geography, western civilization, and drawing, shouldn't be too bad. I managed to actually get everything into two days, so I"ll be working mondays, wednesdays, and fridays, with school on tuesdays and thursdays.

I also applied for a second job this week in the library system, I'm fairly sure I'll get it. It's a circ sub position, basically just filling in for full-time circ staff as needed. I'll get to decide how much or how little I'll be working, so I can still page too.

Anyways, that's the news from over here... I'll post more interesting things in the future!
